My son's donor met him on a kidney search site on line, she made 3 trips from TX to Maine for testing and the surgery. She is a young mom and risked her life to save a life. Words cannot convey our eternal gratitude and love that we have for Mandi Segovia, an angel among us. [ she would prefer to not receive accolades but I couldn't resist]❤❤🙏🙏

Survey: Most adults would consider living kidney donation if certain factors were met. Survey findings reveal that most U.S. adults are open to the idea of living kidney donation, but barriers like concerns about medical expenses and health impacts exist. Facilitators include being well-informed about the surgery's safety. Culturally competent education could increase donation rates. Understanding these trends can help address disincentives and promote donation. hashtag#KidneyDonation hashtag#HealthAwareness hashtag#PublicHealth
Kudos to Katya Kaplow, MPH, and her team!

What if one of my children needs a kidney?

Written by Martha Gershun, Guest Blogger When I told people I was planning to donate a kidney to a woman I read about in the newspaper many asked “But what if one of your children (or your husband) needs a kidney someday?  You won’t be able to save their life.” The answer for me was easy.  I was already 61.  …Read more
